Season

Description: This is a season project where we had to choose two seasons using a tree but also adding characteristics about that season. I choose Winter and Summer because those are my favorite seasons. Using snow, snowflakes and the moon for Winter. Using grass, leaves and rain for the summer.

Extension Activity: You could do this for really anything. Two things that go together to create one picture. Having students choose 2 things that they enjoy and put this together to create their own design.

Galaxies

Description: For our project to the class, we chose to watercolor paint galaxies. Using different techniques such as (wet-n-wet, flat wash, salt, etc.) to create our project. We used stars and a consolation to add some detail to our project.

Extension Activity: Making a landscape of the outdoors, the beach, would be a good extension activity because all of those colors can blend together. Using the techniques can show what you are trying to create, and it can help you by having your project stand out.

Whoville

Description: We created our own Whoville using construction paper. My Whoville has different shapes and obstacles on the ground. A creation of different sizes and routes because Whoville is a crowed place.

Extension Activity: Instead of using construction paper for a design, you could have students draw their own Whoville. Then they are able to add color by drawing people, building, mountains or even the grinch.

Perspective

Description: For our first project Sara and Mikayla had us do a perspective drawing using shapes and designs. Using oil pastels and blending colors together to use colors on the color wheel. Using different design to show that we can create more than one design.

Extension Activity: Drawing a building that has difficult shapes and angles. This can really test your skills in the classroom because it is never the easiest. Using that and coloring it in the make a nicely drawing.

Coffee Filter

Description: This project was to be able to practice using watercolor paint. I used a crayon to make a design and used watercolor paint to have the crayon dispense the colors.

Extension Activity: Using something that is very thin and can have crayon on it will work for this activity. For Gavin's and I teaching project we used these examples so making galaxies would be cool.

Candy Land

Description: Gavin and I made this activity for kindergarten through 2nd grade students. It as the 12 parts of art. We placed our images on the board, while having definitions on the other cards. Students will take turns picking up the card and matching it with the proper image.

Extension Activity: Something other than Candyland would be chutes and ladders. Same game, same style of method for students to play.

Footprint Introduction

Description: I made this footprint using cotton balls, sticks, photos, crayons, markers, and a soda can. I used these items to complete my foot. While sharing my footprint I talked about how I enjoy spending time with my family, doing a lot of hunting/fishing, going to Northern State University for Elementary Education, while also playing baseball at Northern. Lastly sprite cranberry is the best drink during the holiday season.

Extension Activity: You can use this activity by tracing students head on a sheet of construction paper. On the paper students will put on their head would be and picture of their family, what hobbies they enjoy, favorite subject in school, and what's one thing they want to learn in the classroom throughout the school year. You could do this for 3rd-5th graders because they will have more ideas to add to their project.
