Hidden Safari

Description: We did an assingment where you drew an animal in blue pencil upside down. Creating our own background to hide the lion as much as possible. Using 3-D glasses that we made in the classroom to see our animal. I choose a lion and he lives in warm climates, hunts animals for food, and he runs fast. Extension Activity: Create some type of background that animals live in and adding more animals to that picture. For example: I choose a lion and they live in the safari, by adding other animals that live in the safari and create a background of what they live in. Such as adding grass, trees, water, etc. This can help create for a more complete photo.

Print Making

Description: We did a print making lesson in the classroom. My first desing was a blue antique picture. My second design was a gold G that stands for my friend Gavin. My last design was a mixture of using broccli and peppers using an orange and red color. Extension Activty: Students could create a story themed print making, describing a story that they could tell by using their pictures. It adds a challenge for students but something that can be a language art lesson as well.

Butterfly

Description: In this picture we used a butterfly design to create a butterfly. We outlined our design in sharpie then I used cool coolers to design my butterfly using oil pastels. Using black oil pastels to make it stand out. Then I used a wet-n-wet watercolor technique to create my background using orange and red.

Extension Activity: You can do this with any animal of your choosing. Allowing students to pick their own design and create their own project. Using the same rubric just letting them pick their own animal.

Van Gough

Description: In this assignment we did a stary night project to replicate Vincent Van Gough. I choose to do the colors green, light green, and white. We used tissue paper as a background. Using a piece of construction paper replicating the city. Drawing designs on the town making it stand out more.

Extension activity: Using oil pastels and drawing my own stary night background. I would like this because in the original paining he had different lines and it really stood out. I think being able to use oil pastels and drawing a similar stary night would look awesome.

Clay Making

Description: We made fast dry clay as one of our lessons. We had to pick 3 different food groups to pick from to complete our 3 different foods. I choose to make steak, banana, and a piece of bread. Using paint to color each of the pieces to replicate the exact food.

Extension Activity: An extension activity for this would be to do the actually clay itself. With that being able to have time to take some more time, create a bigger piece and use the kiln. Even by making other projects to help you in your own classroom.

Season

Description: This is a season project where we had to choose two seasons using a tree but also adding characteristics about that season. I choose Winter and Summer because those are my favorite seasons. Using snow, snowflakes and the moon for Winter. Using grass, leaves and rain for the summer.

Extension Activity: You could do this for really anything. Two things that go together to create one picture. Having students choose 2 things that they enjoy and put this together to create their own design.

Galaxies

Description: For our project to the class, we chose to watercolor paint galaxies. Using different techniques such as (wet-n-wet, flat wash, salt, etc.) to create our project. We used stars and a consolation to add some detail to our project.

Extension Activity: Making a landscape of the outdoors, the beach, would be a good extension activity because all of those colors can blend together. Using the techniques can show what you are trying to create, and it can help you by having your project stand out.
